[Keith spent the duration of his time during this fun little separate-towns adventure in a progressively emptier and emptier city worrying about where the hell everyone else is. His guess is they were being messed with, that the others were nearby, maybe even in some similar ghost town, but he had no way of knowing or any evidence. And this place has screwed with them so much already, who knows.
So when he's finally back in the town proper, well. Zero time is wasted and Keith is out the door to check on Hunk. Because it was unfair that he reunited with his friend from home and then promptly lost him again. Not fair at all. He's basically in a full on jog, so Hunk is going to wind up absolutely collided with around one corner by a very determined Keith, who probably only mostly knocks himself over in the process, but much more importantly.]
[Yeah, Hunk doesn’t stumble but he does make that winded noise as he’s slammed into. He’s only a second of being staggered before he hears his name and brightens the heck up, a huge relieved smile. Ha! His hypothesis was right! ]
Keith! You okay?
[PREPARE TO BE SEIZED in a solid hug. Hunk has spent the last several days drowning in a miasma of worry, he can’t help it. Unfair, Town, letting him reunite with a pal and then yanking him off to some alternate plane. ]
[Solid as a rock, Hunk! There's a reason he's the best leg in the universe, right? Right. And still here. Still okay. Not that Keith would ever want to do anything to get in the way of Hunk being able to go home, if he knew for sure he'd gone home and was okay. But he can't know that when people disappear here. So it's mostly just a relief to see him here and alive and well.]
Yeah, I'm fine. I ju--
[He cuts off because suddenly hugs! And umm. Keith... Keith is really really on board the hug thing right now, moving to wind his arms around Hunk and hug him back because wow he's been worried too. Jeez. Eyes shut, tipping forward to lean into Hunk's shoulder.]
Better now. I was really starting to worry... but. You all right? Nothing terrible happened?
[Welcome to hug life, Keith. Did you miss it while you were stuck with the Blade? Because wow does Hunk have stores of hugs to spare. He squeezes at Keith when he's hugged back, relaxing utterly, his shoulders sagging in relief.]
No, there-- no, nothing terrible. I heard voices? But, yeah. I, uh. I wound up doing that looking back thing pretty soon after we all got separated.
[He's sheepish about saying so, apologetic... Sorry Keith he failed.]
[He kind of did miss hug life, Hunk. A lot. Enough that like he's in no hurry to let go right now. Shh. It's fine. He's just relieved. Time away from his friends has done a great deal to make him realize how much he misses them, clearly.]
I wouldn't have even lasted that long, in your position.
[Keith is pretty sure of that much anyway. He's... no matter what the consequences, he can't imagine not turning back for anyone. He finally steps back now and claps Hunk on the bicep, offering a grin.] I had it easy, I think.
[Hunk cracks a smile, murmuring a little:] Yeah, I know that. [He knows Keith'd turn back if he heard any voice familiar to him. That's what Keith is right, like? Even if he did leave for the Blades, he's still fighting for them too, right?]
So, what was it for you? What'd you have to resist?
[He's just going to give him a little nudge. Let's walk and talk is what the gesture says; Hunk is feeling too restless to stay in one place. Call it adrenaline or relief or what have you.]
[Keith is definitely still on their side. Without a doubt. If they need him for anything, he'll be there in an instant. Hell, he was ready to crash his fighter into a Galra cruise for their sake. And he'd do it again in a heartbeat.
He shakes his head at the question.] Stuff. Like particular stuff.
[A shrug of one shoulder at that.] Things from home kept popping up. [But nothing that was really tempting, honestly.]
Yeah, I can't see you being tempted by much like that? Did your paladin armour show up? [was it clean the fact that he cleans Keith's armour hasn't gotten out yet, right, still his secret]
[It was also super clean, as a matter of fact. But Keith of course has no idea. ...he'd be stupidly touched though. Like. Really touched. Because as far as he's concerned he doesn't really deserve to be a paladin anymore.
[Keith cracks a smile at that.] I dunno. The food here sort of sucks in general. Might be wasted.
[But then again if anyone could make do with what they have and actually more than make do, make cuisine out of what they have here with color, it's definitely Hunk.]
Anyway, whatever it was, I'm just glad it's over. Didn't seem fair that I just found you and then lost you again right away.
[Wait. That sounded sentimental and like he cares. ...well he does. So that's fine, right?]
Hunk looks surprised, then his face melts into a happy smile and he just grabs Keith in another heartfelt hug, though brief. He gives him a companionable squeeze to the shoulder, too!]
I won't get lost that easy. I'm gonna stick it out here with you.
[Oh hugged again. But actually that's fine. He's still all sorts of relieved, so even if he's startled, he'll hug back.]
Yeah, okay. Make sure you don't. We'll both stick together and figure this out.
[He wouldn't have ever wished getting stuck here on Hunk in the first place, but now that he is, it'd be a gigantic lie to say Keith weren't grateful to have him.]
[Hunk thumps his back companionably once Keith is Freed from his hug.]
Yeah, one way or another. I still really wish I had Yellow to help out somehow, but... what can you do. He probably wouldn't fit very well around here.
As long as there's bedrooms and a kitchen I'm pretty happy.
[He grins as he saunters along, hands sticking in his pockets.] We never really got to do it at the Garrison either? Just. You know, doing whatever they told us, taking whatever rooms.
[And there hadn't been a lot of choice where he'd been prior to that either. But hey, it'll be a nice change getting to pick where to call home, while they're in this weird place anyway.]
I think we can probably manage a kitchen and some bedrooms.
[They've got this.] Ruga? Or uh... one of the other places?

I don't think there's anything I'd be... well, I mean, if they suddenly made super high class cooking equipment appear I might be tempted.

[Free again. But he kind of misses the hug almost immediately. Weird. Like he's been lonely or something. Not like him at all.]
...I think this place would be much better with a couple lions. We'd at least have a better shot at figuring out the woods with Yellow.
[Or Red or Black. Or anything.] But we'll manage it without.
no subject
Yeah. And-- man, getting whisked away like that totally messed with our finding a place plan.
no subject
[Still want to be housemates, Hunk? Because Keith super wants to be housemates.]
no subject
Uh, duh of course I want to be roommates. C'mon, let's go on a house-hunting stroll and then we'll do this funky thing!
no subject
Yeah? Now?
[Works for Keith! He's in.]
no subject
[LET'SA GO, KEITH. Hunk grins wider, waving him along as he starts walking.]
no subject
[Keith perks right up, even if he tries not to look like he's perking right now. Can't quite help it.]
Let's go.
[House hunting. How exciting. Keith falls into step alongside Hunk.]
no subject
Sooo, preferences’ I mean, one floor or two floor?
[He pauses suddenly and whispers excitedly:] Oh man, this is what it’s like to go shopping for a place with your roomie... Sweet normalcy. Kinda.
no subject
Uh... I mean. Either is good? What do you think?
[Keith will be happy anywhere with a roof and walls.]
I guess it is kind of normal. Maybe. I mean... I've never done it though.
