So, if you remember that sparring partner I assigned you, I lost track of him. I don’t want to assume the worst, but there’s no sign of him anywhere. You can tell me if that changes, but even then, I’m giving you another. He goes by Nanjo, #4FB6C3.
Coincidentally, he left his student behind, too, so I was hoping you could take over. Since you’re both familiar enough with hand to hand and sword combat, I thought you’d be able to show her a little more close combat instead of using her magic. It's Estelle, and she's over at #FF471A. Thanks.
Todoroki-kun and I didn't run into anything too dangerous on our path, and it looks like most people I've talked to weren't injured too badly. I still haven't heard back from everyone, though.
[Hunk is a paladin on a mission. He was taken to some weird new version of the town without Keith or anyone very familiar to him, panicked, heard his mom and then he was back in a town even emptier than that one. The last several days have been a combination of pacing and also going to Keith's place to see if he's back yet before the process repeats.
Oh, he's a smart boy. He's figured out that the other town he was very briefly in must have been something like... an alternate universe, only slightly different from this one. Every group of colours must be off in those, due to the quests. He's also watched people show up in what he's calling "Real Town" steadily. From failing the quest like him, he's hypothesising.
Still! He's worried!! However, when May 31 rolls around, a sudden influx of people has Hunk going wait a minute I think the quest thing is done with.
And then, with great purpose , he's making his way quickly through town on a route he's taken quite... quite a few times now.]
[Keith spent the duration of his time during this fun little separate-towns adventure in a progressively emptier and emptier city worrying about where the hell everyone else is. His guess is they were being messed with, that the others were nearby, maybe even in some similar ghost town, but he had no way of knowing or any evidence. And this place has screwed with them so much already, who knows.
So when he's finally back in the town proper, well. Zero time is wasted and Keith is out the door to check on Hunk. Because it was unfair that he reunited with his friend from home and then promptly lost him again. Not fair at all. He's basically in a full on jog, so Hunk is going to wind up absolutely collided with around one corner by a very determined Keith, who probably only mostly knocks himself over in the process, but much more importantly.]
[Yeah, Hunk doesn’t stumble but he does make that winded noise as he’s slammed into. He’s only a second of being staggered before he hears his name and brightens the heck up, a huge relieved smile. Ha! His hypothesis was right! ]
Keith! You okay?
[PREPARE TO BE SEIZED in a solid hug. Hunk has spent the last several days drowning in a miasma of worry, he can’t help it. Unfair, Town, letting him reunite with a pal and then yanking him off to some alternate plane. ]
[Dazed and disoriented. Yeah. That's what he is, that's for quiznaking sure.
At least he's not cold. Which would suck. It would extra suck because, for whatever reason, he's missing his shoes. He's stumbling barefoot over grass, grumbling and rubbing at his temples and wondering what the heck happened. Weren't they just hanging over Shiro? New Shiro. Shiro's soul back in clone body with the white hair and missing mechanical arm?
It's all kind of weird to think about when he's stumbling through the woods, steadying himself on a tree.
...Wait, this is the town. What name did they give it? Chroma? Yeah. It's that. He's there. He swings his head, peering through the trees at the familiar houses in the distance. What the quiznak, again.
Keith, then. Would Keith be at the house? But he just saw Keith.
Hunk groans and stoops over slightly.] I feel like I'm gonna be sick.
[It's said to himself because it's hard to keep it straight in his head. Keith should be here but Keith was back there, older Keith, with longer hair and a new scar on his cheek and--he shakes his head hard and wills the world to right itself as memories settle in his brain.]
[It's happening again. The last time he'd opened his eyes to find himself stumbling through these woods -- barefoot and confused and aching from a recent battle -- it had taken him some time to put it back together. It's quicker this time. But this time, this time it isn't just months that have passed. It's years. He's older and taller and sporting more than one new scar, though the most obvious one is the one that streaks across his right cheek.
Sent back home. Dragged back to this eerie colorless town. Only days had passed last time. How long with this return? And more than that, Hunk. Is the other paladin still here?
That question is answered soon enough because Keith sees movement, hears a familiar groan and well. He can't help a relieved smile, somehow. He makes his way over, settling a hand against Hunk's back with a tired sound that's almost a laugh.]
That's kind of nostalgic, you know.
[Reminds him of the good old days. But his expression and his tone flip to entirely serious in the next moment.] Are you okay? Did it happen to you too? Did you go home?
action
Which in this case turns out to be...........
Minato, trying really, really hard to edge his way along a clearly falling apart balcony in the Ruga district.
It seems.....dangerous? But he's focused anyway, even as the remaining pieces of the balcony creak ominously beneath his weight.
Hi Keith, how about some sensible actions today?]
no subject
UMM.
So Keith is watching this from a nearby window. So uh he'll be ducking out said window now, onto his own ledge now, watching this.]
Uh, hey. You okay over there? That looks... like it's going to end badly.
[Really badly. Do you need help Minato? What are you doing up there?]
no subject
[Minato glances over, offering a rather sheepish expression. He knows what it looks like!! But also--]
There's a pot over here... and people have been looking for containers and buckets and things, so--
[He's trying to grab it, but...!
The flooring creaks ominously under his shoes.]

#EA0000; a day after the forest expedition
You still alive?
[Does he need a new trainer after all that, or... (Also, he's worried.)]
Re: #EA0000; a day after the forest expedition
Hey.
Yeah. I mean, as alive as I've been since I got here anyway.
[That part is still up for debate.]
Just had a weird walk in the woods. How about you? Doing okay?
no subject
[He isn't, but Keith doesn't need to know that.]
So you ran into some weird things, too? The forest is pretty dangerous.
[Said like he didn't already know that.]

I recently came into possession of... a number of knives. I have no idea how to use them.
I wonder if you would mind teaching me a little about their use?
